David graduated with a BFA in graphic design from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 1996 and received his MS in communication design from Pratt Institute in 2005. From his start as a graphic designer through his current work in communication design, David has maintained a strong interest in the visual arts and has incorporated this interest into his professional work. David has worked as a designer in several industries, including advertising, fashion, and entertainment. In 1998, he took a job with the Chicago White Sox, ultimately helping the ball club bring its design work in house. He would go on to repeat this process for three other agencies. In his more recent work with the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation, World Trade Center Memorial, and Lower Manhattan Construction Command Center, David has assumed a range of responsibilities while serving simultaneously in the roles of designer, photographer, and administrator. His projects have included annual reports, communication material, outreach campaigns, advertisements, and exhibits, and he also has been charged with marketing the various agencies at different times to employees, residents, tourists, and the general public. Finally, he also has been heavily involved in vendor selection, procurement, and contract management. As projects warrant, David has incorporated his interest in painting into his work for the various agencies, completing numerous paintings and illustrations on their behalf. He also has made time for additional visual arts projects outside of his staff positions. In 2006, he painted the scenes for Charlotte Lisi’s children’s book, I am Special, and in 2007, his artwork was featured on the cover of Nao Hauser’s book, Bronoff’s Rules. In 2008 David's work has been accepted into several juried shows including Art Society of Houston, Transparent Watercolor Society of America, and National Watercolor All Member Exhibition. David was born in Gary, Indiana, and spent much of his childhood in South Carolina.
